The Founder: Neil Rasmus

The Story: When Izola started, the name of the game was shower curtains—Neil Rasmus and Richard Brandt made ones emblazoned with feathers and shaving supplies. But in 2009, the duo decided to expand its design-y horizons, partnered with the guys behind the NYC showroom-slash-consultancy Aesthetic Movement, and started concocting all kinds of cheeky-but-useful goodness: toothbrushes stamped with their three-month lifespan, coasters printed with pickup lines, and letter openers that also serve as rulers.
