Anyone who’s ever been on Pinterest knows that drying your hair with a regular old towel or blasting it with high heat on a regular basis is no good for your strands—it’s more prone to damage when wet, for one—and air-drying just isn’t an option for the thick-haired among us. Anyone who’s ever been on Pinterest knows that drying your hair with a regular old towel or blasting it with high heat on a regular basis is no good for your strands—it’s more prone to damage when wet, for one—and air-drying just isn’t an option for the thick-haired among us. Britta Cox, who prefers a beachy wave to a blowout, knows the struggle. “I was frustrated that it took my hair so long to dry in the morning,” she says. “I heard about a Japanese company making water-wicking fabrics, and a light bulb went off.”

The result? A line of chic and super-lightweight towels and wraps that won’t totally rip your hair to microscopic shreds—but will get it dry fast—called Aquis. Britta’s original turban is so weightless (and snug, thanks to a genius button at the nape of the neck) that you could downward-dog in it, if you’re so inclined. Plus, even though the line now has international following, Britta’s all about maintaining the Marin County-based company’s homegrown feeling—which is why she modeled the towels herself for their latest ads. The only downside? Now you’ve got exactly zero excuses for showing up to work with wet hair. — Lauren Elizabeth
