Raised as part of a foreign-service family, sisters Sabrina and Eunice Moyle spent most of their childhood ping-ponging between East Asian cities like Taiwan and their dad’s Minnesota hometown. “We have a crazy range of references because we grew up on Asian pop culture, but our dad’s family is full of pun-tastic, Midwestern nerds,” explains Sabrina. After moving permanently back to the states, Eunice pursued a degree in graphic design and printmaking while Sabrina worked at an arts non-profit and eventually got her MBA. “I’m basically an art-enabler—I just want to help artists make money,” Sabrina adds.

Consider that goal officially achieved when the pair teamed up to start a full-time card business, fueled by Eunice’s drawings, in 2003. After what Eunice calls “a seven-year detour into the wedding-invitation business,” the pair re-focused on bold, charming, and—yes—very pun-tastic greeting cards around 2010. But even though Eunice is Hello!Lucky’s creative director, the card’s cleverness spews from both of their brains. “Sabrina actually writes most of the text!” says Eunice. “It’s really a team effort.”
