Oh, hi, Ohio.READ MORE
Before they were the co-founders of a hyper-sleek, angular jewelry line, Kaleigh Shrigley and Claire Lowe were already co-workers, sharing shifts at a Columbus, Ohio, boutique. Kaleigh had recently graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design with a degree in jewelry design, and Claire was a self-described “creative connoisseur” with an MA in textile design. Fast-forward some living room metalsmithing lessons, and Claire quickly picked up the nuts and bolts of jewelry making.
The duo no longer works from home (or needs to pick up part-time shifts), but what hasn’t changed since those early days is the fact that every single piece, from slim ear climbers to super-slender bracelets, is still made by-hand by Kaleigh or Claire. “One of us forms, solders, and buffs every single piece of metal,” Kaleigh says, and their touch comes through. “That handmade aspect is the beauty of the brand, and something we always want to hang on to!”
