Even though Carissa Potter and Heather Van Winckle hit it outta the park when it comes to chuckle-inducing cards (like a Hanukkah ode to the sufganiyah), their reasons for making them are no joke. “When we started People I’ve Loved, I felt lost and alone and craved connection with other humans,” says Carissa. “Heather and I both have backgrounds in fine art and an interest in human behavior. The hope is that we’re setting people up to have honest conversations. There are lots of ways that the holidays can be stressful or trite, but they can also be a source of great comfort and joy.” We couldn’t have said it better—which is why we’re letting People I’ve Loved cards do the heaving lifting for us.
