Behind The Scenes

In the Bag: Liddabit Sweets

Our holiday grab bags are back! Packed with rad finds from some of our fave up-and-coming brands, they’re the perfect gifts for the hardest-to-shop for peeps on your list—boys (coming tomorrow!) and girls alike. Score them while you can, and get the low-down on the featured lines here. —erica The Company: Liddabit Sweets The Founders: Jen King and Liz Gutman The Story: Are you prepared to taste the most delicious caramels you’ve ever encountered? Well, you better be: Though they’re hardly traditional, Liddabit’s beer and pretzel take—crammed with Martin’s pretzels and Brooklyn Brewery ale—and fig and ricotta variation (with Salvatore Bklyn cheese) are basically all kinds of wonderful. And that tends to be a theme for the two French Culinary Institute pals who started their biz at the Brooklyn Flea. I mean, the stuff’s so killer that it warrants a cookbook. Get your Girls’ Holiday Grab Bags now, and then hide them from yourself so you don’t eat the caramels before you gift them.

In the Bag: Malin + Goetz

Our holiday grab bags are back! Packed with rad finds from some of our fave up-and-coming brands, they’re the perfect gifts for the hardest-to-shop for peeps on your list—boys (coming tomorrow!) and girls alike. Score them while you can, and get the low-down on the featured lines here. —erica The Company: Malin + Goetz The Founders: Andrew Goetz and Matthew Malin The Story: It takes some kind of well-practiced magic to create a skincare line that 1) appeals to both sexes 2) smells ridiculously good and 3) would look appropriate propping the vanity of the most design-obsessed hotel. But the stylized look of the mojito lip balm, eucalyptus deodorant, and cannabis candle doesn’t mean that the Malin + Goetz takes a hyper-modern approach. In fact, the founders are old-school in their way, personally developing each of the formulations, and, during their first three years in business, waiting on every customer who visited their store in New York’s Chelsea. Yah, they are those kind of guys. Score this votive, part of our jumbo Girls’ Holiday Grab Bag, while you can.
