Behind The Scenes
In the Bag: Baggu
Our grab bags are back! This time their doing a spring thing, with all kinds of awesome goodies for boys and girls from brands we heart and want to share with you (see below and here). Grab one of the 50 while you can! —erica
The Company: Baggu
The Founders: Emily and Joan Sugihara
The Story: Gonna go ahead and guess that you have approximately 17 reusable bags—totes you use for lugging groceries and god knows what else, day-in and day-out. But I’m also willing to bet that not of them are as striking or utilitarian as Baggu’s. When dreaming up the line that they unveiled in 2007, the mother-daughter team had a lot of needs to meet: Joan lives in CA and does her hauling by car (requirement: lots of bags for little money), and Emily is in NY, doing her shopping last-minute by foot (requirement: a compact design she can toss in her purse). Oh, and both have design degrees, so giving their totes, rucksacks, and pouches a killer look was a non-negotiable.
Right this way to scoop up the grab bags! So excited about these things.

In the Bag: Juniper Ridge
There are a lot of things to hype about our springtime grab bags—8 at least because there are that many stellar, up-and-coming companies involved in their creation. And here’s your chance to get to know about one of them. —erica
The Company: Juniper Ridge
The Founder: Hail Newbegin
The Story: Interested in smelling like the Big Sur, Red Rock Canyon, or San Jacinto? Oh, because you can. The Berkeley-based company Juniper Ridge makes soaps, solid perfumes, and room sprays that evoke the scents of the West—aromas that the founder Hail Newbegin missed with he went East for college. And if you’re interested in tasting Douglas fir instead, you can do that, too—the company also does teas, so at least two of your senses can take a vacation if you can’t.
Get (and gift) you grab bag while you can! $45 each!
