The goal of Rachel Gant and Andrew Deming’s move from San Francisco to Saint Augustine, Florida, was to explore their creative impulses with a bit more freedom. “As wonderful as San Francisco was, we often felt that we were part of something that was already very well-defined.” Saying it worked out would be an understatement. In 2014, the pair launched a jewelry line, Endswell, which they run alongside Yield, their already booming collection of beautifully simple, quirky housewares. Also, explains Andrew, “We wanted to be in a place where our growth could impact local community more.”
Like their cross-country city swap, the couple’s decision to start Endswell came from the heart. They had just been dabbling in jewelry when their engaged friends asked for a set of custom engagement rings. The resulting offset bands, inspired by mobius strips, were such a success that they decided to commit to a collection of angular engagement rings and simple stone-centric necklaces.
