Colin Lynch’s popularity in his St. Louis grade-school classroom was pretty much guaranteed, thanks to his dad’s career as a zookeeper. But after his father left the animals behind and opened an importing business, Colin was exposed to a whole new wild world: the romantic, historic one of Italian glassblowing. “Instead of leaving me with a babysitter, my parents would take me on all of their buying trips across Italy and Central Mexico,” recalls Colin. “Eventually, they wanted to give me something to do for the summer, so they signed me up for intensive workshops in Italy with some of the best glassblowers in the world.”
After that, his career destiny was crystal clear. After getting a degree in glass from the Rhode Island School of Design, he moved to New York to put his skills to work, making components for fashion houses and creating original sculpture. In 2017, he turned his attention to jewelry, collaborating with the brand Wwake on a collection of glass vessels and launching his own line under the name Keane. His hand-bent, hard-candy-like striped rings, bracelets, and earrings have been blowing minds ever since.
