Giving brilliant ideas reach has been in Andrea Hill’s job description for years, long before she struck out on her own. Before she launched her home-goods business Tortuga in 2018, she worked as a brand strategist for creative firms like Paloma Powers and Culture TM. Partly as an homage to her family’s housewares history, Andrea decided to go her own way, bridging the gap between conceptual artists and furniture buffs and people, like her friends, who wanted interesting, accessible objects. Each piece in her line, from sportily curvaceous metal bookends to modular, angular coffee tables, is made in collaboration with very cool interior-design studios like Ciszak Dalmas and BCXSY. Talk about a home team advantage.
