The North Fork of Long Island may have become a buzzy weekend destination for New Yorkers in recent years, but Lucie Wawryk was onto the beachy region’s charms long, long ago. “I am a native of the East End of Long Island, and my family has deep generational roots here. My father owned a restaurant right on Main Street in Sag Harbor that my family lived above for a lot of my life," remembers Lucie, who now runs her own business, the jewelry line Concrete Collective, from Sag Harbor, on the island’s South Fork, too. She’s also an expert in the best vineyards to sip chilled rosé with stunning views—after all, as she says, “Wine and the North Fork are two of my great loves.”



“Pellegrini Vineyards make a fabulous rosé. I discovered it while dining at Il Giardino (go and get the whole branzino!). This spot is cool because you can see the entire operation thanks to a stairwell that leads to the cellars.”



“Croteaux Vineyards in Southold is the only vineyard dedicated exclusively to rosé in the country. They make Provence-style wine with North Fork terroir. My go-to type of wine is rosé. I drink it year-round, but there is something special about rosé at the height of the summer season.”

“Martha Clara is a stunning place for a wedding if you’ve always dreamed of a rustic barn setting. It’s such a bonus that they are open seven days a week, year-round, and it’s worth going even if you’re not getting married!”



“Vineyards at Aquebogue is where I was married in December. When you get married at other vineyards, you usually have to get your own caterer, but they handled everything, which allowed me to focus on the intimate details. Plus, the wine is excellent.”



“This one is technically in Bridgehampton on the South Fork, but it is my absolute favorite because the winemakers are true artists and the whole vibe feels artisanal. Some of the vineyards, while all very beautiful, can feel a little corporate but definitely not Channing Daughters. They make several great rosés, but my go to is the Rosato di Cabernet Franc. All the cases usually sell out by the end of the season.”
